The HDS Music Materials Service (MM) is a center for information on the acquisition of specific sheet music and the conditions under which rentals are made. Based on user orders, the MM service places orders with publishers, ensures timely delivery of materials, including customs and postal procedures.
For each material, a rental and/or performance contract is concluded. Along with the contract, an exact list of the number of scores (a score for the cameraman is also required for television broadcasting) and individual parts is compiled. According to the contract, an invoice is issued for the use of the materials, which includes the rental fee according to the individual publisher or tariff rates and the amount of handling charges.
After the lessee settles the amounts stated in the invoice, settlement with the publisher is carried out, and the material is returned to the publisher after the rental period expires, with a special list of the material contents. The MM service takes care of the return of the materials and the payment of the amounts contained in the invoice.
In addition to domestic publishers, the HDS Music Materials Service also represents foreign publishers, such as: Editio Musica Budapest, Editio Baerenreiter Praha, Alkor Edition Kassel, G. Schirmer USA, Schott in Mainz, Universal Edition in Vienna, Peters in Frankfurt, Breitkopf & Härtel in Wiesbaden, Alphonse Leduc in Paris, and others.
